Congratulations to all who participated in Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library Teen Scene Summer Reads Summer Reading Program 2011. There were 415 students grades 6-12 registered for the program and many were active readers in the summer reading program.
I am so proud of all of you who were able to fit reading into summertime fun! Looking very forward to developing next years exciting and fun summer reading program for you all! Thank you for your participation and feedback. I enjoyed working with you and seeing your progress. A private donor made it possible for the Grand Prize in the summer reading program to be the Amazon Kindle 3G! Kickoff and Sendoff concerts by musician Zach Lockwood really made the fun of the program come alive, thank you to all who participated. I hope you enjoyed your Old Lyme Ice Cream Shoppe Ice Cream and iTunes gift cards, they proved to be a terrific way to reward your efforts in reading!
Thanks again for a great summer, I loved seeing you at the library and hearing about all you were reading. I am very fortunate to be able to work with such a great community of teens!!!
