Literature and Film

A three-part series exploring war in three different mediums: fiction, memoir and documentary film.

Part I

On Wednesday, September 24th at 7:00 p.m. James R. Benn, of Hadlyme, Connecticut, discusses his latest novel Blood Alone: A Billy Boyle WWII Mystery. (more information)

Part II

On Wednesday, October 22nd at 4:00 p.m. Julian Padowicz of Stamford, Connecticut shares his memoir Mother and Me about escaping Poland in 1939. (more information)

Part III

The film Art in the Face of War is described by critics as “beautifully and movingly told” which features the images and stories of eight artists from Fairfield County who are all combat veterans of World War II. A November date is still to be announced. (more information)

Artist of the Month - August

Frederick Schavoir



Schavoir draws his inspiration from Old Lyme and the outstanding paintings of the many now famous Old Lyme artists who came to the town for its historic charm and wonderful subject matter. (more information)
