Every Monday – Toddler Time @ 10:30 AM
Two to five-year-olds will delight in listening to stories, singing songs, and making a themed craft. All this free fun takes place in the Community Room. Each program lasts approximately 30-45 minutes. No need to register — just drop in! (No class Martin Luther King Day, January 20, 2014 or Presidents’ Day, February 17, 2014)

Can’t make it to our 10:30 AM story time? We are adding an additional Two to five-year-olds will delight in listening to stories, singing songs, and making a themed craft. Every Thursday – Drop-In Baby Time @ 10:15 AM
This program is best for children ages birth through age two. Introduce your baby to the library and make new friends!
Activities include: sharing books, singing songs and finger plays, and then playtime and exploration with an optional simple craft. Each program lasts approximately 30-45 minutes. No need to register — just drop-in!
First Monday of the month- CrAfter School @ 3:30 – 4:30 PM
This program series will take place on the first Monday of every month from January-June (12/2, 1/6, 2/3, 3/3 4/7, 5/5, 6/2). Join us in making a themed craft the first Monday afternoon of each month. Materials will be provided. CrAfter School is for children in grades three through five. Check our Calendar for more details. Registration is not necessary. Just drop in!
Tuesday, December 3 – Lullaby Nights @ 6:15 – 7:00 PM
Join Eleanor Robinson to sing lullabies before tucking in for the evening. With our voices, her stringed and percussive instruments, we will enjoy a melodic close to the day. Miss Eleanor has taught music and movement classes for over a decade in libraries, nursery schools, community centers and churches. She has performed in classic rock and blue grass bands. This series is great for families, especially those with children 0-5 years of age. Registration is strongly encouraged.
Children in jammies welcomed. Favorite stuffed animals too!
Saturday, December 7, 2013 – Drop-In Winter Crafts @ 10:00AM – 3:00PM
Shopping at the Friends Holiday Book Sale? Looking for something fun to do? Drop your little ones off in the Children’s Room or just stop by for music, fun and some special winter crafts! All materials will be provided. Our activities will be best for kids in grades K-5 but all are welcome. No need to register, just drop in.
Thursday, December 12, 2013 – Mrs. Claus Story Time and Library Tree Lighting @ 4:00-5:30PM
Come to the Reading Room and meet the one and only Mrs. Claus! She will be taking questions about Santa, the North Pole, the reindeer and more. Fun for families and kids of all ages, we will get into the holiday spirit with Christmas stories and songs followed by a special Library tree lighting on the portico outside. Registration is required.
Thursday, December 19, 2013 – Holiday Cookie Decorating @ 3:30-4:00PM
Sugar, frost, and decorate the afternoon away with this fun craft! Kids in grades K-5 can come to the Community Room and pick out a sugar cookie, then add frosting and other edible decorations. Registration is required for planning purposes. All materials will be provided, so just bring yourself!
Friday, December 27, 2013 - Morning Movie Matinee: Monsters University @ 10:30AM – 12:15PM
Nothing to do on your holiday break? Grab your friends, head to the library and catch a morning movie! Bring comfy pillows and cozy blankets to sit on and we’ll provide the rest. We will be showing the film “Monsters University.” Light refreshments will be served. Registration is strongly preferred but not required.
Tuesday, January 7th, 2014 & Tuesday, February 4th, 2014 – Teddy Bear Story Time @ 6:30-7:00PM
Little ones 2-5 years of age can dress in their jammies and bring their teddy bear along for this special moonlight story time! Enjoy bedtime stories, soothing songs, rhymes and fingerplays as we get ready for bed. All are welcome to join us at this free, fun event. Registration is strongly encouraged. Thursday, January 16th, 2014, Thursday, February 20, 2014 & Tuesday, March 18, 2014 – Library LEGO® Fun* @ 3:30 – 4:30PM
LEGO® fans unite! Come to the Community Room to play, imagine, and create using our stash of LEGO® bricks. You can stick to our theme for the month (TBA) or design a model you choose yourself. After we have finished, we will take your creations and put them on display in the Children’s Room! Kids in grades K-5 are welcome. We will provide all materials. Registration strongly recommended.

Thursday, January 23, 2014 – Snowflake Mania @ 3:30 – 4:30PM
Take some snow home with you with Snowflake Mania! Little ones will delight in constructing their own beautiful snowflakes out of tinfoil and construction paper. Older kids can grab a pair of scissors and cut out unique and elaborate designs from printed patterns. Bring a friend and come hang out! No need to register, just drop in.
Thursday, January 30, 2014, Tuesday, February 25, 2014 & Thursday, March 25, 2014 – Grades 3-5 Book Discussion Group @ 3:30 – 4:30PM
Make new friends and share your love of reading at our new book discussion group especially for children in grades 3-5! We are taking recommendations for our very first book, so please email Children’s Librarian Michelle DeSarbo at firstname.lastname@example.org with your picks. We will meet in the Community Room. Refreshments will be served.
Saturday, February 1, 2014 – Take Your Child to the Library Day @ 10:00AM – 12:00PM
Come to the Library for songs, stories and a craft, all to celebrate “Take Your Child to the Library Day”! Our theme will be books and the library. Afterwards, come visit the Children’s Room and share some books together. Parental involvement in craft time is encouraged. All are welcome. Registration is not required — just drop in.
Thursday, February 13, 2014 – Make Your Own Scratch-Off Valentines @ 3:30 – 4:30PM
Kids in grades K-5 can come to the Community Room and give their Valentines an extra special twist with our scratch-off hearts. We will provide all materials. Parental involvement is strongly encouraged. No need to register, just drop in and be ready with a short, special message for the ones you love!
Friday, March 28, 2014 – Make Your Own Marshmallow Launchers: Part Deux @ 3:30 – 5:00PM
Marshmallow Launchers are back! Kids in grades 3-8 are welcome to attend this free competition. Come to the Community Room to build your own mini marshmallow launcher. All materials will be provided. Target and distance competition will take place after assembly is complete. Space is limited. Registration is required for materials planning purposes. Snacks will be served. We hope to see you there!
